AGP \ PCI-E? Help with Video Card...?

I am having some trouble installing my gigabyte radeon 4670. It is a PCI-E card but it seems as though if I were to install the card as it would correspond to the slot on the board the videocard would be facing inward (i.e.) the hdmi ports etc. would be in the computer instead of being exposed by the slot on the back of the computer case. It seems like it would be a perfect fit for the black AGP slot but again I believe the gigabyte radeon 4670 is a pci-e 16x card. I really am stumped. I hope someone can help. * will best answer*|||You need to be sure which you have; AGP or PCI-E

And you need to know which card you have. Look at the box, it should tell you.

To see an AGP Slot: http://www.hardwarezone.com.au/img/data/…

To see a PCI-E x16 Slot: http://www.diaginc.com/knowledgebase/pci…

You can use diagnostic software to tell you also:

I use PC Wizard from http://www.cpuid.com/download/pcwizard/p…

God bless.|||- Like several have said before, you may have a AGP slot instead of a PCI-E.

OR

- You actually have a PCI-E slot, but you have it upside-down. The fan and heat-sink is suppose to face downward.

As can be seen in these photos:

If you have AGP, you do not have PCI-E. It is a newer technology that overtook AGP as the standard for video cards.

There is no way to fit that video card to the motherboard that you have.

You would have to either buy a motherboard that supports your CPU and has PCI-E, or buy an AGP video card.
