Is it better to use one high quality video card or two average ones for gaming?

so one ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB DDR5 PCI-Express Dual?

or two ATI Radeon HD 4830 PCI-E 16X 512MB Video Card?

Doesn't Dual mean that is technically two combined?

I am still learning. XD|||One 4890 will blow away two 4830's! The 4830 is DDR3 which is slower than the 4890. The 4890 shows excellent review results. If you do plan to go crossfire than you might wanna check if your psu has significant amount of juice to power 2 GPU's.|||I would go with the 4890.

The 4830 uses ddr3 ram and not ddr5.|||either one is finee|||One card will do you well. Only rich people get 2 cards, until they realize that it was basically useless.|||You can but it depends on the cards. Some average dual cards are better then one higher quality cards. Like two 4670s would be better then one 4850. If you put a 4830 into crossfire then i would say its kinda the same, but it depends if you have one 4830 already and are choosing between getting another one for crossfire or an 4890 then financially buying another 4830 would be better.
