procesor, ram and what not.|||Well, there is a huge set of things, but given the quality of the card, I would suggest the new AMD Athlon II X4 processor (like $100 for a quad, awesome deal,) one of the newer AMD 790X boards (DDR3 Support,) 4gb ddr3-1600, 1tb Hitachi Deskstar SATA drive (as many as you like,) case with a few 120-140mm fans for good cooling,



Gigabyte and MSI are my favorite board makers. People jump up and down about asus but I've had terrible luck with them. I'm on like 4 bad asus boards, 1 bad MSi board, no bad gigabyte boards (though they are sometimes slow to add CPU support to older boards, if they ever do.)



If you want a better processor, the Phenom II X4 955/965 Black Edition is fantastic.



At this point I think AMD is a better deal than Intel, but as it has been for years now (ever since core 2) intel offers you the best possible performance (i7 only) at a price premium.



Support the underdog yo, especially when the underdog is cheaper.

Thank you very much.|||Yes you are able to install a PCI X16 card into a 2.0 slot. Your issue will be that although it will support the card. The card itself will run slower to run in the 16 slot. So performance of the card will be reduced.

If you run any USB drives and other equipment then you will power for everything.



If you would keep this power supply in case then you will increase the chance of blown the motherboard, cpu will heat up and drives not spinning to full speed. The computer will power off in middle of game.|||You might want to get a cheap 400 watt or better power supply. The new HD 4550 will also work on 300 watts.

Is My Pci E broken or is it my video card?

ok while putting in my video card i had to be a lil rough with it and i was worried because all the plugs i have DVI, VGA, HDMI will not work because my screen does not receive a connection from it for some reason. i suspect i might have done something to my pci e or my video card is broken my screen was fine because it was working before i put in the new graphics card my graphics card is a ATI Radeon 4770 Series Please and Thank You|||You should NOT force any card into any slot, they slide in with just a little wiggling. I install several dozen a day.

I agree with the other guy, the slots AND the cards are relatively robust and will handle a BIT of clumsiness.



It is simple to figure out. Try the card in another PCIe16 slot or if you only have one slot, try the card in another computer. OR try someone else's card in your slot. That will determine whether the issue is the card or the slot (motherboard).

Go into the bios and make sure that it is set to card as opposed to integrated. Make sure you follow directions for the install properly In some cases, you install the card first, then the drivers, in other cases you install the drivers first. (when all else fails, read directions). Go into device manager then display adapters and make sure you see your new card, not the old one.



I doubt the screen i s broken, but thank you for mentioning it. You should also try with another hdmi or dvi cable. MOST techs prefer dvi plus spidf on our desktop boxes because it is a better, more robust connection, but we usually use hdmi on our notebooks to cut down on clutter. Make sure you use ONE cable at a time, not multiples like on a TV.|||I've been a little rough with my cards when building computers and they worked fine. Most likely your video card is defective.

And theyre both crossfire compatible so you really cant go wrong.|||The reason why the Radeon x1600 AGP is expensive than the Radeon x1650 is because the x1600 has 512MB meaning faster processing and memory units to play games or images. However, i would recommend the radeon x1650 PCI-e for it is overclocked more than the x1600 and alos the PCI-e is a newer type of card. OH yea one more thing, agp and pci-e are two different cards, so first identify which type of slot your computer can run AGP or PCI-e. google the images and you will be able to tell which card you need.
